Icees are another summer treat that monkeys seem to enjoy!  They keep monkeys occupied for extended periods of time.  They even might groom the coconut afterwards.

Safety Concerns

Spray inside and outside jug after use.  Run through Cage wash.

Coconut Icees

Coconut Icess are the perfect summer treat! Monkeys can spend up to hours foraging the fruit in the icees and licking the pineapple flavor.

Equipment

  • Knife

Materials

  • 1 Medium Sized Cococut
  • 1/2 cup berries, blueberries, cherries,
  • 1 cup pineapple juice

Instructions

  • Cut medium sized coconut in half with knife
  • Mix a handful or raspberries, blueberries, and coconut pieces into a bowl
  • Add a half of cup of fruit mix into half of coconut
  • Pour 1/2 cup of pineapple juice into the same half of the coconut
  • Place the coconut into the freezer
  • Let it freeze overnight
